Join us as we shine a light on Adam’s story during National Donate Life Month 
Adam Robert Smith is a devoted father, loving husband, and true warrior in his fight against **IgA nephropathy**, an autoimmune kidney disease that has taken him from stage 2 kidney failure in 2018 to **stage 5** at just 45 years old.
Each night, Adam undergoes **peritoneal dialysis** as he waits for the call that could save his life — a kidney transplant. His ultimate goal is to spend many more years watching his two young sons, ages 7 and 9, grow, learn, and thrive. They are homeschooled and active in scouts and church school, and Adam is doing everything he can to be there every step of the way.
Though a match was once found, health issues prevented the donation from going through. Now, Adam is back on the waitlist — where the average wait is **up to six years**. And with a life expectancy on dialysis of just 5 to 10 years, time is not on his side.
