Mary Jo Lovely Memorial Scholarship Award: $5,000

The Mary Jo Lovely Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of a remarkable individual whose legacy inspires us to support those who strive for excellence. Mary Jo, the driving force behind the creation of the Transplant Alliance Foundation, was dedicated to helping transplant patients with their medical expenses and advocating for the importance of organ donation. As a two-time transplant recipient, she understood the challenges faced by those in need of transplants and their families, and she was committed to providing support that makes a difference.  Our Foundation was touched by Onyi’s story and dedication. Onyi Kenine received a life-saving liver transplant as an infant and it has never held her back from living a normal, healthy life. Her donor is always in her mind as she lives the best life she can. We hope this scholarship will ease the financial burden of her education and enable her to focus on achieving her dreams.

On a personal note, I have known Onyi since she was a young girl. She is a well deserving young lady that is outgoing and grateful for the Gift of Life she has received.
